What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? love most things, but love the feel of Angora, but am loving the fibrespates sparkly yarn...

What fibers do you absolutely not like? hate scratcy yarns, or yarns that make my skin itch, like some acrylics and mohairs.

What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?Have aknit pics wallet for my interchangeables and a knit pics pouch wallet for my circs, but best of all have some beautiful china jugs of differenet sizes for my straights...

How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? been knitting since a young girl, my step grandma taught me, I think!!

Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
Intermediate but getting better all the time..

What’s your favorite scent? buttermilk vanilla...

Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?love toffee and dark chocolate, oh and nougat!!

What’s your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can’t stand?love all shades of pink, not realy any colours I hate, used to be a colour snob, but this swapping business has taught me to be open and try new things... Its about combinations and the right pattern...

Phew......

Yeah. last weeks over...
Now I can breathe again....
Hubby spent 24hrs in the cardiac unit, had loads of drugs pumped in him.. but hes safe and well.
This is the 2nd time this has happened and has to be taken as a serious wake up call...
Next time, if theres a next time, he will have to go on meds for the rest of his life..
this time they are happy if he adapts his lifestyle he should be ok, so no meds,
so all his little luxuries have to be reduced, take more exercise, reduce stress levels...
I have suggested he take up knitting for the stress releief but strangely he didnt seem to keen...

A bad day......

was too good to last...

got up to find little blue the hamster dead, hence to say no 1 son devastated...

then get a call from hubby's work to say he's on way to hopsital in ambulance...
heart again!!! hes only 44...arrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh

then the heat... it hit 34.c on route to hospital, then get to hopsital and its a sauna, they say can't have fans as they spread germs!!!

so if any one's out there please send me good vibes... I need them.....

Boy does it get in the way of my knitting..
This week has been hell, so much to do, so little time.
I think I'm averaging a 45 hour working week plus 40 Min's traveling each way...
how the heck am I meant to fit in knitting.
When I get home its, just as busy with 2 young sons.
Food, homework, quality time....
Saying that junior is knitting a row or 2 of his scarf each night, slow going buy hes getting good now and is wanting to do matching mitts as well,
he thinks its dead cool as the old soldiers used to knit....
then hes planning on knitting his own socks....

still going on with my 2 shawls, night song and the simple shawl, mystery blanket and Babette going well, and also 2 pairs of socks coming along nicely. Seems I have a thing for knitting 2 of the same type all the time....

started my first real crochet project this week, other than Babette, a cute crochet cupcake...
loving that...

Sue, one of my cycle china buddies and I have started making fairy stuff to raise funds... yep we are sad and it had to be craft orientated, and fairies are a common bond between us, shes a sewer I'm a knitter/crocheter so we think its a match made in heaven, or should I say Fairy worlds....

well the suns still shining, must be a first for years as its Wimbledon and Glastonbury time,

WIP CITY.....................................

First up is the first of my goal to knit me a whole weeks worth of snug evening socks, for when we go ski-ing in lapland in January..

Then theres my gorgeous nightsong shawl, this is a labour of love as I have never knit anything like this before and always quit.. but i'm hanging in there albeit slowly...

Then theres the mystery blanket 2009, I am way behind but its slow going again as have had to learn new skills, cabling, beading, swiss darning...

Heres my own pattern socks, a simple row of beads then some raised purl stripes.....

Heres my glorious hand dyed by me yarn, have decided on the simple shawl, camping season is coming up and this is a warm me up and bring a smile to my face shawl for the evenings when we are sat around the camp fire....

As well as this I have started my babette but as I can only knit granny squares am having to learn how to do these, will get a few squares done to my liking and will then post those for you all to see...

Hello June.

Wow am I glad June is here.

May was a whirlwind of a month..

We managed to successfully move nanny & grandad to their new flat,

Eldest son managed to get through all his Sat's exams,

managed to recruit staff to a full team at work

had a great school break week with the boys

and shock horror even had some nice hot sunny days....

so all in all I'm happy relaxed and am getting lots of knitting done..

there's nothing like sitting in the garden on a summers eve, knitting and enjoying the space..

Next Saturday I'm off to UK Ravelry day, cant wait..

I have just got me some pink/lime striping sock yarn ordered..

This is the lime /purple yarn, same as I shall be having in lime/pink..
